Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This policy covers the Boku TV app for Android TV and Google TV, and this website. Boku TV has no accounts and no servers of its own, so there is very little to say, but here it is in full.

At a glance

  • No accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
  • Your setup stays on your TV. Your logins and playlist addresses are also encrypted.
  • The app connects only to addresses from the sources you add, and to Google Play for purchases.
  • Google Play handles all payments. We never see your card details.
  • Backups are files you create, and you decide where they go.

Who we are

Boku TV is published by Fireblue (Shihab Al Jaddawi), Oman. In this policy, "we" means Fireblue. You can reach us at [email protected].

No accounts, analytics, ads or tracking

There is no Boku TV account and nothing to sign up for. Viewer profiles exist only on your TV.

Boku TV adds no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code. Google's billing library includes a usage-reporting component; Boku TV switches it off, so it never sends anything.

If you have allowed your TV to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Android and Google Play may send Google crash reports about any app, including Boku TV. That is controlled by your device settings, not by Boku TV.

What stays on your TV

Everything Boku TV stores is kept in the app's private storage on your TV.

Your playlist and guide addresses, your provider's server address, username and password, and a salted hash of your parental PIN are also encrypted, with a key that never leaves the device.

Your channel list, TV guide, films and series, favourites, watch history, resume positions, profiles, reminders and settings are kept in private storage without that extra encryption. Playlists usually include your provider's stream addresses, which can contain your provider login; these are stored the same way.

Android backup is turned off for Boku TV, so none of this is copied to Google's cloud backup or to a new device.

Who the app connects to

Boku TV only connects to addresses that come from the sources you add:

It also uses Google Play for purchases. It never contacts a Boku TV server, because there isn't one.

Payments

Boku+ is sold only through Google Play. Google processes the payment under Google's privacy policy, and we never see your card details. The app checks your purchase on the TV itself and keeps a record of it there.

Your TV's home screen

If you use Boku+'s continue watching, Boku TV adds what you're watching to the Watch Next row on your TV's home screen: the title and episode title, your progress, and the poster link from your provider's data. Your TV's home screen is Android and Google software. It shows that row and downloads the poster from your provider's image server itself.

Backups

A backup is a file Boku TV creates only when you ask it to, saved wherever you choose: a USB drive, your TV's storage, or a storage app you have installed. We never receive it.

A backup contains your sources, including your logins, plus your profiles, favourites, history and settings. You can protect it with a passphrase, which encrypts it. Without a passphrase anyone who has the file can read your logins, so we recommend using one.

Deleting your data

We don't collect personal data through the app, so there is nothing for us to delete. To remove everything Boku TV stores on your TV, clear the app's storage in your TV's settings or uninstall the app, and delete any backup files you made. Uninstalling doesn't cancel Boku+; manage that in Google Play.

If you email us

When you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to reply. Mail to that address is forwarded by Cloudflare to our Gmail inbox.
